 Diese Gitarre lässt dich jeden Moment zelebrieren. Vom Öffnen des herrlich verratzten Lifton Cases über die samtige Optik & Haptik des gealterten Nitro-Finishs bis hin zum ersten Akkord – alles vermittelt das Gefühl, eine originale Goldtop  in den Händen zu halten.

Ein Instrument, bei denen Freunde ungläubig fragen werden: "Ist die echt?"

Die Antwort lautet natürlich nein. Und genau darin liegt ihre größte Stärke.

Für einen lächerlichen Bruchteil dessen, was ein Original kostet, bekommt man hier eine Reissue, die optisch, haptisch und klanglich so nah an die legendären Vorbilder heranrückt, dass man sich unweigerlich fragt, wie Gibson das überhaupt geschafft hat.

Und damit zum nächsten Punkt.

Der Sound:

Fett. Holzig. Offen. Nasal.

Vier Kilogramm perfekt aufeinander abgestimmtes Mahagoni und Ahorn liefern ab, was man von einer erstklassigen Goldtop Reissue erwartet: druckvolle Mitten, unglaubliches Sustain, ultradirektes Attack und eine Saitentrennung, die selbst auf diesem Niveau ihresgleichen sucht. Den gewohnten R7-Blubbermumpf sucht man hier vergeblich!

Das Sobrich-Fazit:

Es bleibt ein Mysterium, warum Murphy Lab Gitarren mit jeder Aging-Stufe einfach nochmal besser klingen. Vielleicht weiß es Tom Murphy. Vielleicht ein paar wenige Menschen im Gibson Custom Shop.

Letztlich spielt es keine Rolle. Diese Goldtop ist einfach Top-Notch. Punkt.

This guitar lets you celebrate every single moment. From opening the beautifully beat-up Lifton case to the velvety look and feel of the aged nitro finish, right down to the very first chord – everything conveys the feeling of holding an original Goldtop in your hands.

An instrument that will make your friends ask in disbelief: "Is that real?"

The answer, of course, is no. And that is precisely its greatest strength. For a ridiculous fraction of what an original costs, you get a reissue that comes so incredibly close to the legendary archetypes visually, tactilely, and sonically, that you cannot help but wonder how Gibson managed to pull this off. And that brings us to the next point.

The Sound:

Four kilograms of perfectly matched mahogany and maple deliver exactly what you expect from a first-class Goldtop reissue: punchy mids, incredible sustain, ultra-direct attack, and a string separation that is second to none, even at this elite level. You will look for the usual "R7 muddy boom" in vain here!

The Sobrich Verdict:

It remains a mystery why Murphy Lab guitars simply sound even better with each level of aging. Maybe Tom Murphy knows. Maybe a select few people at the Gibson Custom Shop do.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter. This Goldtop is simply top-notch. Period.
