2020 Fender Custom Shop LTD ’58 Special Stratocaster Journeyman Relic – Chocolate 3TSB – Roasted AAAA Flame Neck – Handwound Fat ’50s – 3,45 kg

Hier kommt eine außergewöhnlich stimmige und seltene Limited Edition Stratocaster aus dem Fender Custom Shop.

Schon beim ersten Blick wird klar, dass diese Gitarre weit über dem Standard liegt.

Das dunkle Chocolate Sunburst Journeyman Finish wirkt je nach Licht fast schwarzbraun bis tief vintage-amber und harmoniert perfekt mit dem spektakulär geflammten Roasted AAAA(!) Flame Maple Neck. Zusammen mit dem gold anodized Pickguard ergibt sich ein extrem ansprechender, fast schon „Boutique-artiger“ Look.

Sie reagiert extrem direkt, schwingt sofort an und hat dieses trockene, lebendige Gefühl, das man nur bei besonders guten Exemplaren findet. Die Handwound Fat ’50s Pickups liefern genau die richtige Mischung aus Transparenz, Wärme und Druck – nie dünn, aber trotzdem offen und detailreich.

Besonders beeindruckend ist die Ausgewogenheit der Gitarre:
Der Hals-Pickup klingt groß, rund und dreidimensional, die Zwischenpositionen liefern diesen perfekten glockigen Vintage-Strat-Sound mit viel Snap und Tiefe, und der Steg-Pickup hat genau die richtige Portion Biss und Präsenz, ohne jemals harsch oder spitz zu wirken. Genau diese Balance macht die Gitarre extrem vielseitig und musikalisch.

Der Hals ist ein absolutes Highlight: kräftiges Soft-V-Profil mit perfektem Vintage-Feeling, dabei aber modern genug durch den Compound Radius. Die geröstete Flamed-Maple-Konstruktion sorgt zusätzlich für enorme Stabilität und ein sehr direktes Attack.

An exceptionally tasteful and rare Limited Edition Stratocaster from the Fender Custom Shop.

From the very first glance, it becomes obvious that this guitar is far above standard Custom Shop level.
The dark Chocolate Sunburst Journeyman finish shifts beautifully depending on the light — ranging from almost dark brown-black to a deep vintage amber tone — and pairs perfectly with the heavily flamed roasted AAAA(!) flame maple neck. Combined with the anodized gold pickguard, the result is an extremely attractive, almost boutique-like appearance.

Tonally, this Strat definitely belongs among the truly inspiring Custom Shop instruments.

It responds instantly, resonates effortlessly and has that dry, lively character that only particularly good examples possess. The Handwound Fat ’50s pickups deliver exactly the right balance of clarity, warmth and punch — never thin, yet always open and detailed.

What is especially impressive is the overall balance of the guitar:
the neck pickup sounds huge, round and three-dimensional, the in-between positions deliver that perfect bell-like vintage Strat tone with plenty of snap and depth, and the bridge pickup has just the right amount of bite and presence without ever sounding harsh or brittle. This balance is exactly what makes the guitar feel so versatile and musical.

The neck is an absolute highlight: a substantial Soft V profile with authentic vintage feel, yet modern enough thanks to the compound radius. The roasted flame maple construction also adds excellent stability and a very immediate attack.
