Das Tonspektrum dieser Les Paul zu beschreiben, ohne in Superlative zu verfallen, fällt zugegebenermaßen schwer:

Holzig, schmatzig, direkt, warm, knurrig, bissig.

Unglaublich definiert und nuanciert und dynamisch im Anschlag.

Fettes Sustain bei zugleich unglaublicher Transparenz.

Das Gain aufsaugend wie ein Schwamm erzeugen die handgewickelten Pickups eine Komplexität und Dreidimensionalität, wie man sie sonst nur bei (unbezahlbaren) originalen „PAF“ Tonabnehmern findet.

Die Out-of-phase Mittelstellung beider Pickups liefert mit leicht reduziertem Output und Verwendung der Tone Regler eine schier unendliche Flexibilität – Peter Green hätte diese Les Paul vermutlich geliebt!

Hier hat Gibson es geschafft unter Einsatz jahrzehntelanger Erfahrung, Handwerkskunst und edelster Materialen ein Instrument zu bauen, das dem Original so nahe kommt wie kaum ein anderes.

In Relation dazu wirkt das Preisschild schon fast lächerlich.

When Musikhaus Hermann contacts Gibson to place an order, experience shows that only the very finest selections are considered. For this instrument, tonewoods of the highest grade were chosen exclusively. This is clearly reflected in the exceptional weight of just approx. 3,520 g (no chambering, no weight relief – fully solid mahogany).

In addition to its spectacular appearance, this special edition features extensive MHH upgrades, including:

Describing the tonal spectrum of this Les Paul without resorting to superlatives is admittedly difficult:
woody, chewy, direct, warm, growling, biting.
Incredibly well defined, nuanced, and highly dynamic in attack.
Massive sustain combined with remarkable transparency.
Soaking up gain like a sponge, the hand-wound pickups deliver a level of complexity and three-dimensionality otherwise found only in (unaffordable) original PAF pickups.
The out-of-phase middle position of both pickups, with slightly reduced output and use of the tone controls, offers tremendous flexibility – Peter Green would most likely have loved this Les Paul.
Here, Gibson has succeeded in building an instrument that comes closer to the original than almost any other, drawing on decades of experience, craftsmanship, and the finest materials.
In that context, the price tag almost seems modest.
