Wer schon einmal versucht hat, eine Fender Custom Shop Strat mit hochklassigen Boutique-Pickups aufzubauen, weiß sofort, wie absurd dieses Angebot eigentlich ist.

Hier bekommt man nicht nur irgendeine modifizierte Strat – sondern eine hervorragend abgestimmte, superresonante 58er Relic mit erstklassigen Komponenten von Kloppmann und Amber zu einem Preis, bei dem man nicht mal anfängt, über vergleichbare Custom-Shop-Modelle nachzudenken.

Bereits trocken gespielt entwickelt die Gitarre eine enorme Resonanz und ein fast schon „explosives“ Schwingungsverhalten. Jeder Ton springt förmlich aus dem Instrument heraus, Akkorde öffnen sich dreidimensional und selbst einzelne Noten besitzen dieses lebendige, fast akustische Eigenleben, das man nur bei wirklich guten Strats findet.

Mit nur 3,4kg liegt das Gewicht dabei absolut im perfekten Strat-Sweet-Spot.

Aber auch optisch besitzt die Gitarre enorm viel Charakter.

Das Faded Chocolate Sunburst harmoniert perfekt mit dem authentischen Relic Aging und vermittelt ein authentisches Vintage-Mojo, das man sich von einer eingespielten Pre-CBS-inspirierten Strat wünscht.

Das eigentliche Highlight ist allerdings die Elektronik.

Die Gitarre hat eine professionelle HSH-Fräsung vom Gitarrenbauer erhalten und wird aktuell in HSS-Konfiguration mit 2 Kloppmann ST60 Singlecoils und einem splitbarem Amber Spirit of 59-Humbucker betrieben.

Der untere Tone Control fungiert hierbei als Überblendregler/Fader.

Diese Kombination macht diese Strat zu einem echten Ausnahmeinstrument.

Die beiden Kloppmänner liefern glockige Höhen, holzige Mitten, enorme Transparenz und ein wunderbar perliges Attack.

Der Amber Spirit of ’59 ergänzt das Ganze perfekt mit einem offenen, dynamischen PAF-artigen Ton, der der Strat plötzlich auch cremige Blues-, Rock- und Lead-Sounds ermöglicht, ohne ihren eigentlichen Charakter zu verlieren.

Wer also keine keine Casequeen sucht, sondern eine enorm variable und resonante Player-Strat mit erstklassigen Boutique-Upgrades, der bekommt hier extrem viel Gitarre fürs Geld.

Anyone who has ever tried to build a Fender Custom Shop Strat with high-end boutique pickups will instantly realize how absurd this offer actually is.

This is not just some modified Strat — but an exceptionally well-balanced and highly resonant ’58 Relic loaded with premium components from Kloppmann and Amber, offered at a price point where comparable Custom Shop models are usually not even part of the conversation yet.

Even unplugged, the guitar delivers huge resonance and an almost “explosive” acoustic response. Every note practically jumps out of the instrument, chords open up beautifully in a three-dimensional way, and even single notes have that lively, almost acoustic-like character only truly great Strats seem to possess.

At only 3.4kg, the weight sits perfectly in the absolute Strat sweet spot.

Visually, the guitar also has tremendous character.
The Faded Chocolate Sunburst pairs perfectly with the authentic Relic aging and delivers exactly the vintage mojo you would hope for from a properly broken-in pre-CBS inspired Strat.

The real highlight, however, is the electronics.

The guitar received a professionally executed HSH routing by a guitar builder and is currently configured as an HSS setup featuring two Kloppmann ST60 single coils and a splittable Amber Spirit of ’59 humbucker.
The lower tone control functions as a blend/fader control.

This combination turns the guitar into a truly exceptional instrument.

The two Kloppmann pickups deliver bell-like highs, woody mids, outstanding clarity and a beautifully percussive attack.

The Amber Spirit of ’59 complements everything perfectly with an open, dynamic PAF-style tone, suddenly allowing the Strat to produce creamy blues, rock and lead sounds without ever losing its actual Strat character.
