Von Kunden hören wir immer wieder einen Satz:

„Früher hat Fender sich einfach mehr Mühe gegeben.“

Ganz fair ist das natürlich nicht. Auch heute baut der Fender Custom Shop nach wie vor fantastische Instrumente.

Wenn man diese Gitarre in die Hand nimmt, versteht man jedoch sofort, was mit dieser Aussage vermutlich gemeint ist.

Mit gerade einmal 3,37 kg gehört sie zu den angenehm leichten Exemplaren.

Schon akustisch überzeugt sie mit einer außergewöhnlichen Resonanz – laut, lebendig und voller Schwingung. Sie reagiert auf jeden Anschlag unmittelbar und transportiert den typischen Vibe, den man sich von einer großartigen Strat wünscht.

Auch wenn es damals noch keinen Floor Traveller gab, spricht vieles dafür, dass der Erlekorpus aufgrund seines Gewichts ausgewählt wurde. Anders lässt sich die Kombination aus Leichtigkeit, Resonanz und Balance kaum erklären.

Auch optisch trifft diese Strat sprichwörtlich ins Schwarze. Das Relic wirkt überaus authentisch und fühlt sich genauso gut an, wie es aussieht. Zusammen mit dem schwarzen Finish entsteht unweigerlich eine Portion „Blackie“-Mojo – Eric Clapton lässt grüßen.

Am Verstärker setzt sich dieser Eindruck nahtlos fort.

Die Gitarre besitzt eine außergewöhnlich offene Ansprache, glockige Höhen und eine Dynamik, die einen immer weiter inspiriert. Genau diese mühelose Lebendigkeit macht unserer Meinung nach den Reiz einer wirklich guten Strat aus.

Das Sobrich-Fazit:

Es ist schwer zu erklären, warum einen manche Gitarren sofort abholen.

Vielleicht ist es das Gewicht. Vielleicht die Resonanz. Vielleicht einfach die Summe aller Details.

Fest steht: Am Ende ist sie genau das, was man sich von einer großartigen '57 Strat erhofft:

Leicht. Laut. Resonant.

Und vor allem eine Gitarre, die man deutlich länger spielt als geplant.

Sehr guter Zustand mit altersüblichen Gebrauchsspuren. Die Bundierung ist noch zu gut 80-90% erhalten, hier kann also noch viele Jahre sorgenfrei gerockt werden.

Kommt im orginalen Fender Tweed Case, inkl. Zertifikat (COA), Hangtag, Originalzubehör und sonstigen abgebildeten Case-Candies.

There's one sentence we hear from customers time and time again:

"Back then, Fender simply put more effort into their guitars."

To be fair, that's probably a bit of an exaggeration. The Fender Custom Shop continues to build outstanding instruments to this day.

However, the moment you pick up this Strat, you immediately understand what people actually mean by that statement.

At just 3.37 kg (7.43 lbs), it's one of the lighter examples you'll come across. Even unplugged, it delivers exceptional resonance—loud, lively and incredibly vibrant. Every note jumps off the fretboard with effortless ease, capturing exactly the kind of feel you'd hope for from a truly great Stratocaster.

Although Fender didn't include Floor Traveller sheets back then, it's hard to believe this alder body wasn't selected with weight in mind. The combination of light weight, resonance and balance is simply too convincing to be a coincidence.

Visually, this Strat hits the mark just as perfectly. The Relic work feels incredibly authentic, both in appearance and in hand. Combined with the classic black finish, it carries an undeniable touch of "Blackie" mojo—Eric Clapton fans will know exactly what we mean.

Plugged into an amp, that first impression only becomes stronger.

It rings like a bell!

The response is immediate, the highs are beautifully chimey, and the dynamic range constantly encourages you to keep playing. In our opinion, it's exactly this effortless liveliness that separates a good Strat from a truly exceptional one.

The Sobrich Verdict:

It's difficult to explain why some guitars connect with you instantly.

Maybe it's the weight. Maybe it's the resonance. Or perhaps it's simply the sum of all the little details.

One thing is certain: this is exactly what you'd hope a great '57 Strat to be.

And above all, it's the kind of guitar you'll end up playing far longer than you originally intended.
